Mapleton OT services specializes in craniosacral therapy for all ages and occupational therapy for infants and children. We treat people of all ages with a variety of issues and provide in-person, in-school, or virtual treatment services in order to enact a plan to get our patients to better health. The services can be provided at our office space in Longmont, Colorado, virtually, or via house visits, available throughout Boulder County. Our passion is helping families and individuals assess the issues you (or your child) are having and enact a plan to get you feeling better inside and out!
Occupational therapy aims to help individuals be as independent as possible for the daily activities (or occupations) throughout the lifespan. Basically, the goal of occupational therapy is to get you to recognize and assess what is at the core of your difficulty and provide you with activities and a plan to be able to allow your body to heal and function properly. As an occupational therapist, I want you to be able to live life fully, by promoting healthy practices, catered specifically to you and your body, which allows you to both heal from injuries and trauma as well as prevent (or live better with) injuries, illnesses, or disabilities.
Occupational therapy takes a holistic perspective when it comes to healing. Often the area that is giving you pain is a sign or symptom that there is an imbalance somewhere else in your body. Occupational therapy focuses on adapting to each individual’s situation, and circumstances. By adapting to the specific environment of each of our patients, we come up with a personalized plan, designed specially for you, which usually means the work we accomplish together has longer-lasting effects.
Craniosacral therapy is a hands-on touch and treatment that aims to provide relief from a variety of issues and symptoms, ranging from migraines and pain to PTSD and autism. The theory behind craniosacral therapy is that your body is one interconnected network of organs, muscles, and tissue. If there is tension or blocks in one area of your body, it will often have a seemingly unrelated effect on a wholly different part of your body. Craniosacral therapy aims to relieve that tension or block, allowing your body’s natural healing process to work effectively.
Craniosacral therapy uses light touch techniques to examine the body’s membranes and the movement of fluid in and around your central nervous system. If a blockage is found, craniosacral therapy can relieve tension, allowing a better flow of fluids and nutrients throughout your body, thus promoting well-being, boosting health, increasing immunity, and relieving (often illiminating) pain.
